EDIT
Consonant shifter This character shifts the second register to the first register. Its preferred transliteration is muusekatoan, not muuseikatoan.
The Khmer language is spoken in two different registers. In the first register, the sounds spoken in a normal (head) voice quality with a pretty high pitch. The second register uses a deeper and breathy kind of voice with a lower pitch. The character U+17CA Khmer Sign Triisap does the shift from first to second register. |
