EDIT Capital sharp s (ẞ)

The capital sharp s is the upper-case version of the small sharp s (U+00DF). The character was included in the Unicode standard in 2008, following a proposal by a committee of the German standards organization DIN.

Usually, instead of the capital sharp s, the replacement \"SS\" is used (for example: \"GROSS\" for \"groß\"). An example for current public use of the capital sharp s is the Gießener Zeitung, a German newspaper.
