* The Unicode Standard 5.0 available in print *
6 January, 2007. The printed version of The Unicode Standard, Version 5.0, edited by the Unicode Consortium and published with Addison-Wesley Professional in autumn 2006, is now also available in Germany. Its 1,472 pages give an extensive insight into the technical background of the world standard.

6 January 2007. On Friday, 26 January, 2007, the decodeunicode project is going to be presented at the École Supérieur des Arts Décoratifs de Strasbourg, France.

7 January, 2007. From 22 to 24 March, 2007, the Accademia di Belle Arti, Bologna, Italy, is going to host the Imagine iT! conference conference, the first large-scale typography conference of its kind to be held in Italy. At the event, Prof Johannes Bergerhausen will be presenting the decodeunicode project.

6 January, 2007. On Friday, 23 February, 2007, Prof Johannes Bergerhausen will be presenting the decodeunicode project at the „22. Forum Typografie“ 22ft.de at the University of Applied Sciences, Düsseldorf, Germany. The list of speakers also includes Luc(as) de Groot, Uwe Loesch, Georg Salden, Fred Smeljers, Kurt Weidemann.
* 400,000 visitors in 2006 *
3 January, 2007. In 2006, our website registered exactly 399,508 unique visitors from 126 countries, who visited a total of 15.7 million pages. This amounts to a daily average of 1,094 visitors looking at an average of 39 web pages each per visit. The highest monthly amount of visitors to date was registered in December 2006 with a total of 54,547 unique visitors.

June 11th 2006. We are happy to announce that our poster »The Basic Multilingual Plane« was nominated by the German Design Council for the 2007 Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany.

March 2006. Invited by Deborah Anderson from the UC Berkeley, Prof. Johannes Bergerhausen presents the decodeunicode-project in the panel »Unicode and Academics« at the 29th Internationalization & Unicode Conference in San Francisco.

March 26th 2006. Prof. Johannes Bergerhausen will present the decodeunicode-project in early April at the Kitabat Arabic Calligraphy and Typography conference in Dubai. kitabat.org
* 100,000 visitors *
December 29th 2005. We've just had the 100,000th visitor on our website! Since the beginning of the beta test we had an average of more than 600 visitors a day using decodeunicode.org. In December 2005 people came looking from 102 different countries.
* decode was »heised« *
December 8 2005. A press release by the German Press Agency (dpa), published on heise.de, the most popular website for IT-related news in Germany, had the usual consequences: simultaneous clicks on our link by several tenthousand IT-specialists caused our server to crash. German IT-speak has a special term for that: »The server was heised«. We feel honored. And we were still able to be there for 11,000 visitors on that day – a new record.

March 24th 2005. last weekend, the Basic Multilingual Plane Poster has been awarded a bronce medal by the Art Directors Club Germany in the category typography.

The international designmeeting Typo Berlin is taking place at the The House of World Cultures in Berlin from 19. to 21. May 2005.
